Finding Your Inner Success Spirit

Mali74
Each of us has an inner spirit that desires to shine in the big world around it. This spirit is sometimes free to wander, learn, and engage the world and other times this spirit is tucked away for safe keeping. Other times we keep that inner success spirit for fear of damaging it and having it face some tough realities. Most people are afraid of failure and this fear paralyzes them into non-action.

Why do people fear failure? When a person fails at some endeavor they are focused on they are saying to themselves "you're not good enough". This failure adds to the concept that they are non-productive, not good enough, or not smart enough to succeed. The fear people have is they are just "average" with nothing to show for their efforts.

This fear can be so powerful that it can impact nearly every aspect of a persons life include whether or not they can hold a job, maintain a marriage, or engage in meaningful activities. Fear of failure is a very powerful paralyzing factor. Most of us have meet a person or two that isn't motivated and is unproductive based simply upon their own self-esteem and fear.

Even when we act we can be our own worst enemy. Time and time again people have destroyed their own efforts at success only because they do not want to take responsibility over their failure. It is much easier to protect one's ego when their failure was by design instead of a legitimate lacking of ability. Everyone has a need to view themselves as worthwhile individuals up to the challenge of life.

If we look at most people who have impacted the world in someway it would seem as though they were instant successes because people report on their achievements. However, if you look deeper at their lives you would find that many of them experienced deep hardship and many failures before getting it right. Despite these initial short comings they persisted over their own fears to go on to accomplish great things.

Thus, it is important to believe in yourself and be persistent in your pursuits. This belief in your abilities doesn't mean you are going to be able to do it well the first time. It only means that you know deep down that you will be able to succeed eventually after you learn more, try harder, and put together the right atmosphere. It is the beliefs that you will eventual succeed through the trials of adversity.

In order to develop that inner spirit of success one will need to foster, coddle and think rationally about their abilities. For example, if you want to be a CEO it will take years to develop the right mix of skill and abilities. One should not expect to be an instant success. In the same strain of thought it is beneficial to think about your strengths and weaknesses and really focus on improvement for the maximum effect.
