Finding the Method that Works for You when Quitting Smoking

There are many ways that you can quit smoking and be successful but each person is different and not every way will work for everybody. What may work for one will not work for another. It's going to be difficult if you are a smoker for many years and its going to take a lot of willpower no matter which way you choose to quit. I have tried many different ways to quit smoking. I have quit many times only to end up going back to it.

Chantix is one of the newest ways to quit smoking. This way has worked well for many people. There are some bad side effects that are associated with this medication. There are also side effects that are annoying but not really that dangerous. One of the worse side effects is you have a headache or upset stomach all the time. Sometimes this medicine can make you feel nauseated all the time and while you don't feel like smoking at this time, you really aren't even able to go anywhere because you feel ill. There are also many side effects that are more know about mood disorders from taking this medication. Again if you can tolerate this medication is it one f the best ways to quit.

Patches to help you quit smoking can be successful for some people. Some people can wear the patch and still smoke. While the patches are helpful to curb the urge to smoke it's still a matter of finding something else to do with your hands and finding new healthy habits to replace smoking. Many people can make the patches work and quit smoking after a few short weeks of using the patches.

Cold Turkey. This is the way that my father quit. He not only went cold turkey, he also carried around a lighter and a pack of cigarettes with him for many months. I am unfortunate and don't have that kind of willpower. This is suppose to be the best way to quit smoking as you are determined and not relying on anything other than your willpower to quit smoking.

Using hypnotism to quit smoking is another way to quit smoking. Some people have been very successful to quit this way. It's all part of your subconscious that makes you smoke anyhow, so not wanting to smoke without thinking about it sounds as the easiest way to go with this. This has worked for some people but not as successful as the other methods.

If you are a smoker not only with the price going up with the cigarettes all the time your health should be the best reason to quit smoking. If one way doesn't work to quit then try another. Visit your doctor and get a plan to quit smoking with them there are many options available that one will work for you. It may take you a few tries to quit but never quit trying to quit.
