I admit I rarely tip to the right
Holding on to keep my balance
At times it is an uphill fight
Whether it's an emotional or physical struggle
I know I need to get my ducks in a row
And find that balance that keeps my journey safe
Whether I sprint through life or walk slowly heel to toe
There will be times when we tip or fall
Life has a habit of turning us quickly around
We get dizzy from being pushed and pulled
We need our balance to stay off the ground
We all need to discover what it takes to stand straight
What keeps us sane when insanity is the norm
A way to keep our emotions in check
A soothing balance to weather the strongest storm
We all lose our balance and sometimes our way
So tempting it is to leave our convictions behind
But to stand up straight, we need to find our inner strength
And the courage to open our heart and mind

When Your Child Has Open Heart SurgeryAs a parent of a child who underwent open heart surgery at 8 days old, I wanted to share some things I learned that I wasn't told by doctors. - The Blessing of Open Heart Surgery at 19 Years OldI was 19 years old and I considered myself to be very healthy. This pain in my chest was something bad though, I just knew something wasn't right.
My 4 Month-Old Son Had Open Heart SurgeryI soon came to find out that my son not only had a common birth defect; but, also a common heart defect among those of Down Syndrome.

Excellent observation, Donna!
Finding a balance... an essential part of living!
Excellent and Beautiful!
Your poems get me through the day Donna! I love this one as I need to be centered because I'm taking care of my granddaughter and her friends today! Thank goodness back to school is just around the corner! :)
Our center and source of balance is within. Spirituality is a circle with its center in each of us and its circumference is nowhere. On the other hand, politics is centered nowhere and has its fringe everywhere!
inner strength is the core! Beautiful, Donna!
lovely indeed, Donna
Very nice, Donna!
