Finding Your Own Beauty Supply Source

Most women, and some men, enjoy the beauty supply products that are used in the hair salons they frequent. This is because the ones used in salons are specifically formulated for professional use. They may contain purer ingredients, or even some ingredients that ordinary "drug store" products do not have. In addition, they may not contain as many harmful or "filler" ingredients, such as alcohol, or some types of sulfates that are not water-soluble; that is, they do not allow water to penetrate the hair and subsequently remove all traces of the product. So, for these and other reasons, many people do prefer the professional beauty supply products. There are ways to procure the exact same products that are used in most salons except for the most exclusive. Most hair salons get their products from wholesale beauty supply places, and some of these do make the same products that are used by cosmetologists available to the public. Sally Beauty Supply is one such place.

Not only does the store sell to professionals, but it also allows anyone to shop at their retail outlets. You may not pay the wholesale price, but you can often purchase the same "industrial" sizes that the salons use. This means you don't have to buy your beauty supply products as often, which can save you money. Pro Salons Supply is an online beauty supply company. It, too, sells to both professionals and the public. There are some beauty supply companies, however, that only sell to those who hold cosmetology and similar licenses. These companies will only carry certain brands and even specific products. Those beauty salons that use these companies may prefer that the products and brands remain exclusive to them, rather than be available for general purchase. One reason for this may be the method that must be employed to apply the product, as may be in the case of hair coloring, perming, or straightening treatments. The licensed cosmetologist will have received either special training or specific instructions in how to use these beauty supply products, and attempts by someone who is not a professional or is inexperienced may result in damage to the hair.
