Finding Your Purpose

Without Jobs, the People Suffer

AC FITNESS BOY
My grandmother always says, you can't have a democracy without jobs. But its like a catch 22. With corrupt governments, jobs are hard to come by. No company wants to invest somewhere where they have to pay officials to stay in business, or worse, for "protection." And unfortunately, most American jobs are going overseas. Not that being a black jack dealer isn't a noble profession, but not everyone wants to work in a casino or be a security guard.

While big companies are downsizing, it is important for the government to be kind to the little guys. The small businesses that employ most people. I am starting a resume business to further my writing career. I want to help people get jobs. And when I get enough business, I'll refer jobs to my writer friend. I have had some success at it already, helping a real estate professional, a sales specialist and a computer programmer as well as other jobs. I find great satisfaction in it. And I may not get famous, or even rich really, but I know how important it is for the average worker to get a good job.

Its when people get stuck in gambling and other sordid activities that they get messed up. My father said, when he would travel with his family, all the third world nations had a lot of gambling. And now America has a lot of gambling. Wasting your money on something where the odds are so against you, is asinine.

We all need a reason to get up in the morning. A reason to be. Maybe you are super spiritual and get a kick out of just being. And that's great. But the bible says the whole reason for enlightenment is to help others. I hope with my writing I can help others heal, move on, and grow. I used to think I had to be some CEO to matter. But I matter to my friends even if I just checked food at a supermarket.

The point is, once you have healed, and can give yourself to being fully alive and feel good about yourself, you are supposed to help others. Not as a guru. But as a "beggar showing other beggars where you found food." Humble, not full of ego and thinking how much better you are. I used to want to be a writer or an artist simply because it came so naturally to me as a child. But as I grew up, my silly stories and playfulness went away. So now I write nonfiction about life. I guess we all need to play. We all need to relax and rest and rejuvenate and feel good.
