One of the most difficult things to do when starting a home business is to find a legitimate wholesaler. Sometimes it can take someone years to find a wholesaler before starting their business. There are things that can be done to make this search to find a real wholesaler easier.

When searching the internet for a wholesaler you will usually only find middlemen and scammers. To avoid this try finding a wholesaler by calling the number to the manufacture. This number is usually on the back of the product or on the website. If the number for the manufacturer can't be found then the call number the product gives for questions and comments. Then ask to be given the number for the distributors of the product. You are usually transferred three or four times but eventually someone with the right information with take the call. They will give you a whole list of distributors. Many of the distributors do not like to work with small businesses and see it as a waist of time. Find a wholesaler from the list that is willing to work with small businesses. The ones who will only work with large business requires you to buy in large bulk. Usually so large that a small successful business wouldn't be able to buy from the wholesaler.

Another place to look for a wholesaler is a company called World Wide Brands. It's rarely ever a good idea for you to pay a company to give you a list of wholesalers. The list are mostly scams or outdated. This is the one exception to the rule. This company is legitimate and is used by small successful businesses all over the country. World Wide Brands has a program they use where millions of wholesalers are listed. It's updated everyday. All you do is type in the item you are trying to sell and they give you plenty of distributors selling that product. Whether buying in large bulk or small this company gives you plenty of chooses when it comes to wholesalers. You pay a one time fee of $250 and you will be able to find an endless amount of the wholesalers you are looking for the rest of your life. The best thing about this company is the good customer service. If you can't find a particular wholesaler for an item give them an email and they will email you back with the needed info. If your password is lost they will email your password to the email you signed up with.

The last things you need to know is to get a tax I.D. They are free and you can get one by going to irs.gov. This is important because no legitimate wholesaler will sell anything without a tax I.D. If they do try to sell something to you without a tax I.D it's a scam. Finding a legit wholesaler can be difficult but with patience, hard work and proper knowledge you will find exactly what you are looking for.
