'Finding Sarah' Chronicles Sarah Ferguson's Journey to Rebuild Her Life

Sarah Ferguson, The Duchess of York, has a new series, "Finding Sarah," set to premier June 12 on Oprah Winfrey's OWN Network. The series follows Ferguson on her journey to rebuild her life following a period of controversy, scandal, and bad press.

In the first episode of "Finding Sarah," Ferguson, 51, rides through the streets of London, reminiscing about days gone by. In a clip for the show, she recalls her wedding day and she points out Buckingham Palace, saying, "There's my old house."

Sarah Ferguson vs. the Media:

In 1986, the world watched as Sarah Ferguson married Prince Andrew, the younger brother of Prince Charles and the uncle of Princes William and Harry. The world also watched as Ferguson was smacked around by an unkind media who dubbed her "The Duchess of Pork" when she gained a few pounds.

In an interview with ABC's "Good Morning America" June 7, Ferguson said she saw her husband just 40 days each year for five years. When she traveled to Australia to see him, the media pummeled her and called her a bad mother for leaving her children behind, something Hollywood celebrities do all the time.

Following their divorce in 1996, Fergie moved to New York and has since published several books. Her latest book, "Finding Sarah: A Duchess's Journey to Find Herself," is scheduled to be released June 28.

Sarah Ferguson Finds Herself at the Center of Scandal:

Sadly, Ferguson hit rock bottom when she was caught up in a scandal last year involving her ex-husband. She was videotaped accepting money from an undercover News of the World reporter in exchange for access to Prince Andrew (she has maintained she was not trying to sell access to her former husband) and even said the Prince knew about the deal. Ferguson later said she was "devastated" by the sting and she "very deeply regret the situation and the embarrassment caused."

The Duchess added her "financial situation is under stress" but said it was "no excuse for a serious lapse in judgment, and I am very sorry that this has happened. I can confirm that the Duke of York was not aware or involved in any of the discussions that occurred."

Ferguson Snubbed by Royal Family:

To add insult to injury, Ferguson was snubbed by the Royal Family when they failed to invite her to the wedding of Prince William and Catherine Middleton on April 29. As the happy couple said their I do's, Fergie made herself scarce and traveled to Thailand.

The Duchess of York said in an interview with Oprah Winfrey, "I went through the phase of feeling so totally worthless and that it was quite right they didn't invite me. Why would they invite me?"
