Finding Ways to Make Extra Money During the Recession: Writing Online

g christine
If you can write with any sort of skill, you can make extra money on line during the recession. There are more and more sites popping up all the time, and all are looking for content to bring in readers, and you can share in the profits.

There are several different ways to make money on the Internet with writing, and these include content sites, on line magazines, paid blogging sites, and discussion boards. You can also bring in money by writing ebooks, either by producing and selling them on your own, or by using a self-publishing site such as lulu.com.

You can also create your own blog to make extra money writing during the recession. Monetizing your own blog can take a lot of work, though, this is a long-term project for most people. It can take months, or even longer, to get established and gain a large following of readers. You can put Adsense on a blogger blog for free, but you would need hoards of traffic to make any money this way. You could try selling advertising space, or write advertiser-supported posts.

If you're more interested in writing articles, try sites like Associated Content, Ehow, or Bukisa. These sites will pay you to write articles on a variety of subjects. Each site pays differently, and for different types of content. Ehow pays for specific how-to articles, and you make your money through a revenue-sharing program. Associated content offers up-front payments for some articles, as well as for page views.

There are also more casual sites, like Gather and Mylot, where you can get paid for participation rather than for writing articles, although you can easily submit regular articles as posts on these type of sites. Starting and joining in discussions, uploading pictures, and rating others' posts are some ways you can make extra cash on this type of site.

You will need to read the terms on each individual site for writing and eligibility requirements, they are often different from each other. Some take only writers from specific countries, and some have age or other requirements.

As always when trying to make extra money on line, be careful. There are scammers out there who won't hesitate to take advantage of you, so always research a site first before giving any personal information, and never pay for an "on line opportunity".

Like anything else, it takes effort and dedication to write on-line, but it can pay off.
