Fireworks in Clean Green Boulder City

Desert Spectacular

The Fourth of July is a wonderful time of year. The temperatures are warm, the days are long and family and friends celebrate by eating delicious food and watching fireworks. There is just nothing like a fireworks display. Perhaps it is the way the booms send shockwaves through the body, the way it makes the heart jump, or the way it turns the sky into a glowing aurora borealis. Fireworks displays leave a lasting impression and make wonderful memories for years to come.

I have resided in Boulder City for the last six years and I must say that it is a truly wonderful town to visit. It boasts a population of just 15,000 residents and has numerous shops, restaurants, and parks. It is just five minutes from Hoover Dam and just twenty minutes from the Las Vegas Strip.

Before the fireworks display is an all day Damboree celebration with a barbecue, car show, art, a parade, and a band. There are also several activities for kids. Be sure to dress appropriately for the activities and bring sunscreen as temperatures this time of year can be as hot as 110 degrees. As the temperatures begin to cool and the sun begins to set, the fireworks celebration draws near. The finale is a beautiful fireworks display that is several minutes long, somewhere between 10 and 20 minutes. It is located at Veterans Memorial Park. Take Nevada Way into Boulder City, Nevada from Las Vegas. Make a right onto Veterans Memorial Drive and drive for about a half mile or so past Adams Blvd. The park will be on the left. You might want to arrive about an hour or more early so you can get parking inside the park. Otherwise you can pass the entrance and drive the rest of the way down Veterans and make a left onto Buchanan Blvd. You can park somewhere along Buchanan Blvd and walk into the park. Walk into the park and sit wherever you'd like as there are plenty of grassy areas to choose from. The fireworks start promptly at 9:00pm PDT. Be sure to bring blankets, pillows, chairs, and water. There are numerous booths in and around the park if you are interested in goodies such as ice cream. You can even bring your own fireworks (legal ones) and sparklers for the kids to play with up to the start of the fireworks display. Keep in mind that there will be traffic congestion after the display as people begin to leave. You can avoid this by walking back to your car and leaving just as the fireworks are just about to end. Enjoy.
