Fireworks Displays in Northeastern Pennsylvania

If you're going to be in Northeastern Pennsylvania for July 4th festivities, here are a few places to check out fireworks and also some small town carnivals:

On June 30th, if you are in the Wilkes Barre/Scranton area- check out the fireworks display at Nay Aug Park. The show begins at dusk, and there is no rain date scheduled. Also, in Luzerne County- stop by the Beach Haven carnival for a quick bite to eat and a fireworks show. This show begins at 11pm and there is no rain date scheduled.

If you are a fan of the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Yankees baseball team, stick around after the games for an amazing fireworks display. They will be starting right after the end of the game on July 4th, 5th and 6th.

July 3rd the skies will light up at Pocono Downs near the Mohegan Sun Casino in Plains Twp, PA. Get some gambling in, and then head out to see the fireworks. This show will begin at 930pm.

The majority of the fireworks displays in this area will be on July 4th. In Columbia County, the Bloomsburg Park will begin their display at dusk. There is also some entertainment before the fireworks begin. The Catawissa Military Band will be performing at the band shell in the park. In Luzerne County, the Kirby Park will begin their display at 9pm after the Philharmonic presentation has concluded. Other areas to be doing fireworks displays on the 4th are: University Park near Beaver Stadium in State College, Williamsport near the Market Street Bridge, Camelbeach in Tannersville at the ski area, Lake Wallenpaupak in Pike County, Mifflinburg Community Park in Union County, and many others.

Even though the 4th of July is over, your celebration doesn't have to be. July 6th is the date for the fireworks display at the Hunlock Creek Garden View Drive-In. The Drive-In is located just off Route 11 between West Nanticoke and Shickshinny. The display will start at dusk, and the rain date is scheduled for July 8th.On July 7th, head on over to Millville in Columbia County. Stop at the carnival and chow down on some apple dumplings and french fries. The fireworks will start at midnight and it's surely a sight you won't want to miss. It is by far one of the best displays in the area.

For a complete listing of the dates, places and times- visit www.wnep.com. As always, use caution when near fireworks and always have an adult present. We may be a small area, with some small towns--but the fireworks displays are big and the food at the carnivals is something you won't want to miss.
