Fireworks Over Lake Shelbyville

A Day Long Celebration Featuring Games, Food, and Live Music by the Lake

The Fireworks Over Lake Shelbyville are always a stunning display. It is beautiful to experience the spectacular view of the lights reflecting off of the lake.

When: July 4th, 2008 - Events start at 10 a.m. and ends with the fireworks display at 9 p.m.
Where: 9th Street Beach area, West Dam Entrance - Shelbyville, IL

What:
The annual Fourth of July Celebration at Lake Shelbyville will feature a large variety of events and entertainment this year:

10 am - Spencer Montgomery 600 Outlaw Mini Sprint Racing (all day)
10 am - Bird walk on the Dacey Trail with the US Army Corps of Engineers
11 am - Inflatable playground for children available until 9 pm
11 am - The Shelby County Lincoln Heritage fund raiser
11 am - WEJT will be broadcasting live on location until 1 pm
11 am - Shelbyville Dairy Queen offering food on location until 9 pm
2 pm - WRAN will be broadcasting live on location until 4 pm
3 pm - Performances by Kris's Power Tumbling and Dance until 4 pm
3 pm - Air Evac Helicopter Fly-in until 5 pm
4 pm - DJ with 50's and 60's music provided by Barker's Balloonery and Bridal
4 pm - Live music by Christ Tabernacle Church of Herrick Praise and Company
5 pm - Choir Directed by Jack Porter
5 pm - The Shelby Winds will be performing Sousa marches and other patriotic songs until 6 pm
6 pm - Wes Wheeler and the Battle Creek Band until 9pm
9 pm - Fireworks display

Other events with times yet to be announced include
- Duck race at the Spillway
- Kayak demonstrations and rides
- Demonstrations by Illinois Muskie Tournament Trail
- Children's' games - watermelon eating contest, sack races, balloon toss etc.
- Volleyball Tournament
- Dunk Tank
