The story gets complicated when a few days before her husband's homecoming a handsome mysterious man is hired to put on a fireworks display during the celebrations in town. He comes from several generations of pyrotechnic producers and creates new fireworks of his own, including fireworks in Lily's heart.
From fireworks overhead lighting the sky to fireworks in a deserted vine covered cabin in the woods author Jeffrey Stepakoff keeps the reader enthralled in the story that spans generations through the characters memories.
The love seines are some of the most passionate I have read in ages but very tastefully done and could not have been left out of the story. And, if you are an emotional person that gets involved in your reading you can't help but feel Lily's joys and pains throughout the book.
Mingled into the story you will also get some brief history and geography lessons and also learn a bit about the work involved behind the beautiful firework displays we have all viewed at one time or another but not so much that it takes away from the love story and life choices Lily must make.
An exceptional love story the reader will not easily forget, 'Fireworks Over Toccoa' is both tear-jerking and jubilant reflecting different types and levels of love. It has been a long time since I have read a book I could not put down but had to struggle to do so with this one - I am already trying to figure out who will play the parts when this novel is made into a movie.
If you love romance at its best you will love 'Fireworks Over Toccoa'. This book combines just the right combination of fun, innocence, passionate love, and emotions all set in the small town of Toccoa, Georgia. even involves some mystery.
'Fireworks Over Toccoa' and Jeffrey Stepakoff get a thumbs up from this reader!
