Fireworks displays are popular all year round, but especially on July 4th, which is America's Independence day. There is no better way to end a fun-filled July 4th day of picnics or swimming in the ocean or barbecues or sitting poolside than with a good, old fashioned fireworks display. Below find where to go in Philadelphia and Southern New Jersey.


Fireworks in Philadelphia

Date: Monday July 4th
Time:10:30 pm (approximately)
Where: The display shoots up above the Philadelphia Museum of Art which is on the Ben Franklin Parkway
Viewing: Great places to sit/be are Lemon Hill, Ben Franklin Parkway, Boathouse Row, Kelly Drive, Martin Luther King Drive, Schuylkill Park
Other: Parade and concert(s) during the day before the main event


Cooper River Park, Camden County in Southern New Jersey

Date: Monday July 4th
Time: TBA
Where: Cooper River Park (map)
Viewing: At Cooper River Park (fireworks are set off over the water)
Other: Concert beforehand during the day


Atlantic City, Atlantic County in Southern New Jersey

Date: Monday July 4th
Time: 9:20pm (Marina) 9:45pm (Boardwalk)
Where: Marina and/or Boardwalk
Viewing: Atlantic City Beach or Boardwalk, Casino Hotels (Boardwalk)
Cruise ships or Boat tours etc...from the Marina or ocean
Other: Get there EARLY! It gets crowded, and if you don't have to drive, great, parking is very limited.


Cherry Hill New Jersey - Join the Mayor

Date: Monday July 4th (Rain date July 5)
Time: 9pm
Where: Cherry Hill High School West on the Michael J Santarpio Field
Viewing: Sit in the stadium/field
Other: Doors open at 7pm with music starting at 8pm


Evesham Township, Burlington County New Jersey

Date: Monday July 4th (Rain date July 5)
Time: 9:45 pm
Where: Cherokee High School
Viewing: Check website - probably one of the HS fields
Other: The day starts in Evesham early, with a 5k race and other activities throughout the day such as parades. Doors open at 6:30pm at Cherokee High School, and there will be a Troops rally before the fireworks.

    We used to go to the Jersey shore to watch the fireworks on the Fourth :) Seaside Heights! cheers :) those were the days....
