First Act Acoustic Guitar Review

Kami Valentino
I just started learning to play the guitar 3 months ago. When I decided to start learning I had no idea what to look for in an instrument. I searched the internet (Ebay) as well as guitar stores located in my hometown. I did not want to invest too much in a guitar since I am a beginner. I decided to go to Walmart just to see what they had. I found a beginner student guitar made by First Act, company who sell musical instruments.

The price was reasonable with tax it was around $65.00. It was a package deal from Walmart that included the First Act 36 inch guitar (of course), lesson book, two replacement strings, and First Act play along CD. You can not beat this price.

The features included steel strings, easy to for those small body frame, protective finish, and very sturdy instrument (I hit against a door frame a couple of times and it still works well).

The sound is pretty good. The bad thing is I have to tune it multiple times a week. Considering the price it is worth the time. It seems that I have to strum a little harder and hold down strings a little more with this guitar.

The reliability of the guitar, I would say is excellent. Considering it is very low in price, none of the strings have broken and there are no cracks in the wood. I practice a least 30 minutes a day, seven days a week.

Pros:
Great price.
Durable.

Cons:
It is a little hard to play if you have short fat fingers.
It feels as though you spending a lot of time tuning it.

I highly recommend this guitar for a beginner or even someone who is advanced. It can fit anyone's budget. Great for kids and adults alike.I have enjoyed my First Act guitar for the past three months. On a scale of 1 to 5, I would give it a 4.
