On the western slopes in Colorado, it may take some time to reach a veterinary clinic if our furry companion becomes ill or injured. That's where this First Aid Course for Cats and Dogs will come in handy. Just knowing how to keep your family pet calm and comfortable until you can reach a vet, can be a matter of life and death for your pet.
This new course is offered by the Montrose Recreation District, the American Red Cross, and the Grand Junction Kennel Club. All participants will receive a dog or cat first aid guide, and a DVD that will cover basic owner responsibilities such as spaying or neutering your pet, administering medications, and preparing for disasters. You'll receive a lot of information from this class to help you with a pet emergency.
The class will be offered twice this summer:
Session I will be Sunday, May 15 th , from 1-4 PM
Session II will be Sunday, August 14 th , from 1-4PM
This class is open to everyone age 12 or older. Please leave your pet at home for this class.
The cost for this class is $60 and it will be held at the Montrose Recreation District office at 25 Colorado Ave., in Montrose in the OMNI Room.

I really like this...Thanks, Sandy!
It's a good idea for all pet owners to learn some basic first aid.
All pet owners should have animal first aid training in my opinion no matter if they live in the out back or in the city.
Sounds like a worthwhile class to me.
