First Darvocet Lawsuit Filed Against Xanodyne, Many More Likely

The first Darvocet lawsuit has been filed against drug maker Xanodyne over health issues due to the recalled drug propoxyphene.

The New York Daily News reported that 31-year-old Kristine Esposito is suing the Pharmaceutical giant Xanodyne for heart problems she developed while using the painkiller Darvocet.

More Darvocet lawsuits seem likely after the recall of the drug propoxyphene and the FDA's acknowledgement of the dangers and deaths associated with Darvocet, Darvon, and generic drugs containing propoxyphene.

Meanwhile sites like CLASSACTION.ORG and Darvocetlawsuit have sprung up started by lawyers wishing to represent people harmed by Darvocet and offering free case evaluations.

Although a Darvocet lawsuit was previously filed in 2008 when Public Citizen sued the FDA for failing to act on its petition to withdraw Darvon, Darvocet and all drugs containing propoxyphene gradually from the market as was required in the UK, the FDA's statement and the voluntary recall by drug maker Xanodyne now make the possibility of winning a Darvocet case or settlement much more likely.
