I was forced to walk to school as the bus never arrived. This only made my very first day of high school even more stressful than it needed to be. Once I completed my almost mile and a half walk to school, I had no idea where to go. After telling an administrator I was a freshman and asking where to go, I was pointed to the auditorium. I sat for a moment, silent once again, and finally received my schedule. Now very nervous, I headed to my first class of my first day of high school. Although these events sounded horrible, it slowly improved.
Upon entering my very first class, which happened to be math, I quickly recognized a few friends from my 8th grade classes in middle school. They were talking amongst themselves, but quickly noticed me and I was invited to an empty seat near them. This replaced quite a bit of the stress with a, more warming, feeling of relief. I only spent a few minutes in that class though since I had to go visit each class on my schedule, to meet the teachers.
There were a few people that I was friends, or at least familiar, with in each of the classes that I visited that day. This was actually great to find out. High school wasn't turning out so bad after all. The teachers I was meeting in each of the classes seemed extremely friendly and caring as well. I completely forgot about how nervous I was earlier that morning as the day quickly progressed.
The first day of high school seemed to almost fly by. Each teacher was very helpful and explained just what we would be doing throughout the year in their classes. None of them were mean or condescending at all. I was so happy that I actually knew people in my classes. The bell eventually rang to be dismissed from the final class and I was almost sad to go. The first day of high school turned out to be great in the end. I suppose.
