First Interview with Chilean Miners About the "Deep and Dark Times" Below

The Chilean miners gave their first formal interview on a talk show in Chile and Natalie Morales from NBC was able to sit down and join them according to NBC News. This is also seen in this New World video. Through a translator, the men talked about some of their ordeal while they were buried in the bowels of the Earth for 2 months.

First of all the miners made a pact to keep tight lipped and will only share their story for paid appearances. They realized that their story could be worth millions. As part of the pact, the hired an accountant and all the money that any of them make from appearances goes right to the account to be split between the 33 men.

This pact would have assured the family members of all the miners were taken care of in case some of them did not make it. These men were very smart in doing this, it was an insurance policy that none of their families would be left out in when it comes from the money made from this tragedy turned miracle.

This agreement that the men have formed has been adhered to since they emerged from the ground and in their first appearance they did share many of the stories to come out of their ordeal. They are however, saving some of the deeper and darker stories for a more lucrative book or movie deal.

These men will not be paid by the mining company for all the days they were buried beneath the ground, according to the Mail Online website. With this in mind, they were very smart to come out of their temporary graves with their financial planning of their stories. The miners were smart to use some of this time to plan for their futures. This horrific and death defying ordeal looks as if it may make millionaires out of the bunch.

The men's first appearance as they stepped out of the capsule from their extraction from the mine was orchestrated by media coaches. They actually had "media coaches" spending time with them via the phone system set up while they were still beneath the earth.

The media coaches were in place and spent time with them on the communication system telling them how to act, what to do, and what to say when they first arrived on top, according to Fox News Live.

Another little known fact about the rescue was that it was not going to start until a camera was put into the capsule that was fixed on the miners face as he ascended from the ground. This was to watch for signs of panic on their faces. The miners said they didn't need this, they just wanted out and by scraping this idea, they were able to start the miners extraction earlier than planned, according to Fox News live.

Morales said that all of the miners are OK, even the miner who had the respiratory problems is doing well. She said the miners were very "subdued" during their first real interview.

The miners said that the faces and actions seen on the men in the video's were not what they really looked like in their day to day living. They were not as upbeat as the video's depicted. The men put on a front in view of the video camera and when on the phone system for their families so they would not worry.

In this most revealing interview to date, one of the miners shared that he actually "looked death in the face in his darkest moments," he just knew he was going to die. In the first 17 days each day the feeling got worse.

According to Celebrifi, the men talked about cannibalism, again to what extent this was discussed deep beneath the earth, will be shared in later interviews.

The emotions that these men experienced went from elation to deep down depression. The story will be told in complete in a book or movie deal most likely. This would be a venue that would pay in the millions in comparison to the hour long interviews that these men are in big demand for today.

Other reports have come out about fist fights that had taken place between the men, according to Celebrifi. Although they did not share what the fights were about as of yet, these are things we will hear in their up and coming interviews in the future.

The very first formal interview will be seen tomorrow, Monday morning. Morales will talk about the entire interview at length on the NBC "Today Show."
