The famous opening word instructions for all Nascar Races, "Gentlemen Start Your Engines", will be delivered by Grand Marshall's, First Lady Michelle Obama, and Vice President Joe Biden's wife, Dr. Jill Biden at the Chase for the Nascar Sprint Cup finale on Nov.20, according to the Associated Press in a news release from the White House.

The two women have been asked to host the event and will be leading the pre-race ceremonies as Grand Marshall's for Nascar's final Sprint car race of the 2011 season, the Ford 400. The race will take place at the Homestead-Miami Speedway.

The event is part of First Lady Michelle Obama and Dr. Jill Biden's "Joining Forces Program", which was designed to encourage all Americans to support military families. The program's initiative is to recognize the burdens placed on military families by the ongoing military involvement in Iraq and Afghanistan.

Nascar, First Lady Michelle Obama and Dr. Biden will recognize service members and military families from the local community at a special lunch before the race. The Nascar race crowd for the Sprint Cup finale is expected to include 5,000 active duty and retired military personnel and their families and one military family will join the Grand Marshall's as they carry out their Nascar duties.

Track president Mathew Becherer said in a statement "We are honored that First Lady Michele Obama and Dr. Biden will be joining us as we crown the 2011 Nascar Sprint Cup Champion". He went on to say that "We are pleased that they are both coming to Homestead-Miami Speedway to personally thank the men and women who sacrifice so much to ensure our freedom and allow us to enjoy events like the Ford Championship Weekend".

My family and I are diehard Nascar fans and have had the privilege of attending a number of Nascar races. It's a sport our entire family enjoys.

How terribly sad to have the last race of the season to have those two be the Grand Marshals. Shame on NASCAR. Whose duty is it to ask the g. marshal(s)? Or did the White House beg to come so they could campaign for their loser husbands? Just another waste of money and use and abuse of power. I hope come November 2012 someone is telling them "Start your Engines" as you are out of here.............I am so disappointed in NASCAR!!
