First Look at Ryan Reynolds as Green Lantern

Entertainment Weekly gave eager comic book fans their first look at the new Green Lantern movie, starring Ryan Reynolds. The cover, which features Reynolds decked out in full costume, shows comic book fans and love struck women that Green is Reynold's color. The cover is so hot that the Green Lantern is beating out the British Open and the China UFO on Google.

Reynolds plays Hal Jordan, a cocky test pilot who is chosen by an intergalactic peace force to become a part of the Green Lantern Corps. Hal is then given a ring that endows him with superpowers. Other actors include Blake Lively who plays Hal's love interest and Marc Strong as the evil Sinestro.

The upcoming movie will feature some amazing stunts performed by Reynolds, including being catapulted into the air at 60 feet per second to give the illusion of flying. When speaking of the mind numbing stunts Reynolds jokingly tells Entertainment Weekly, "The first time you do it, you're deeply considering an adult diaper." Reynolds also joked about the strict diet he went on for the role claiming he ate "drywall and wood chips" six days a week.

The new film also features scenes in Terra Firma and outerspace, which was a major selling point since the Green Lantern does not enjoy the same fame as Batman or Iron Man.

The film is scheduled to come out June 17, 2011. Until then comic fans and Reynolds' female fans are going to have to read the comic books.
