Glimpse of the New Terminator Hidden in the Film Trailer

The trailer for the upcoming film Terminator: Salvation hit the internet this summer to much fanfare, but there was a secret hidden in it. For a single frame in the trailer, the film's villain, believed to be the T-600, can be seen.

The film, which opens in May of 2009, chronicles a future "war against the robots" alluded to in previous films. Fans of the films will remember that Arnold Schwarzenegger's character was actually a cyborg/robot designated as the T-800. Terminator: Salvation director McG has stated that an earlier version of the T-800 called the T-600 will be featured in the film. This earlier version has been rumored to be a robot without the human skin covering.

Fans can download the trailer from the film's website, and if you have the right program, you can view the T-600 as well. The trailer is available in Windows media format as well as Quicktime format, and if you have a media player that allows you to move through the trailer frame by frame, the T-600 can be seen in the trailer's 34th second. While it is only visible for one frame, you get a good look at the character. It appears to be a chunkier version of the T-800, and may possibly be a man in a robot costume. The T-600 appears to be carrying a gatling gun of some sort, and the glowing red eyes seen on other Terminator robots are visible here as well.

The T-600 can also be briefly seen a second later in the trailer, while a man is seen climbing a fence or ladder of some kind, the T-600 can be seen in the distance behind him.

Filmmakers have yet to comment on the hidden sneak peek, as no other news reports or websites have mentioned it. It is perhaps the first of many sneak peeks at the robots to be featured in what is sure to be one of 2009's blockbusters.
