Wildcard Round Playoff Predictions

Saturday January 8th 2011

New Orleans at Seattle

Seattle is getting a lot of grief for making the NFL playoffs with a losing record but hay they won their division so they deserve to be there. While the Seahawks certainly suck and have some injury concerns they do play better at home. Their concerns at quarterback don't bode well for a playoff victory for the Saints.

As I wrote here the Saints are getting no respect and I think they will represent the NFC in the Super Bowl. The Saints just have too much talent and experience for this bad Seattle playoff team to beat. My NFL playoff prediction is the Saints beat the Seahawks 24 to 14.

New York Jets at Indianapolis

The Jets are good at talking the talk but not so much at walking the walk. Mark Sanchez still needs more seasoning to see if he is going to be the real deal. The Jets lack a real pass rush and what they do get it with blitzes. Peyton Manning is very good at picking up the blitz.

The Colts have had an off year but they did develop a running game late in the season to take some pressure off of Manning. Peyton may be showing a little age but the Colts don't have much to help him either.

My Round One NFL playoff prediction is the Colts beat the Jets 27 to 24.

Baltimore at Kansas City

The Ravens defense got old this year and the offense never made it as big as some of us thought the Ravens would. But this is a solid veteran team with lots of playoff experience. My NFL playoff preview points out the Ravens need to run the ball and stop the run to beat the Chiefs.

Kansas City came out of nowhere and won the AFC West with a power running game and good special teams. The Chiefs defense is average but was really exposed in their lack of run defense by the Raiders.

My first round NFL playoff prediction is the Ravens take a close one in Kansas City by the score of 17 to 14.

Green Bay at Philadelphia

This playoff game between the Eagles and Packers should have more passes than Brett Favre makes at women! Michael Vick has had a great season in Philly but he is constantly banged up but will play in the playoff game.

The Eagles defense leaves a lot to be desired but the Packers lack of a running game will even things a bit. Green Bay was picked by many as a preseason Super Bowl pick but never got it all together.

My round one playoff prediction is the Eagles win this one at home 27 to 24

I hope you're right about Philly-Green Bay. I don't feel comfortable. Clay Matthews is a beast.

I know nothing of football really (especially these days) except I usually would enjoy the SuperBowl once a year ;D however I owe you some page views, lol! You always write these articles so very well, I'll have to take a look at sports once in awhile, but I'd think you might be right. ~So good to still see you over here posting Randy! Always a pleasure!

Good picks. But I don't really know the game well enough.

All picks look good other then the Pack losing, their defense is too tough it will be a defense that wins that ball game and I see the pack pulling it off 27 17 the packs secondary will own Vick and the front d line with the linebacker crew they have, will pressure him to throw passes he will no doubt regret! Hurt him early so he doesnt have the scramble effect and that will seal the deal watch for Collins and Woodson to come in early on Vick and it will prove to be a game changer

I agree with all of your picks Randy!

    I'm thinking Green Bay 47 Philly 3, but I'm just a little biased :-)
