Sailing across the ocean on a cruise is one way to defy a perfect getaway. There is no disturbances for the busy world we are accustomed to. Since being on a cruise makes you feel far away from humanity; people tend to forget their etiquettes. Somehow it seems they've left them a shore with everything else. However, it's important to know that wherever you may be on this earth, it's always advisable to be at your best behavior and to keep certain things in mind. In this guide, I will offer some advice on things you should and shouldn't do while you are on your first cruise.

When on a Cruise, it would be essential to know that how you treat the staff is what type of service you'll get. Being courteous and polite to the cabin crew would encourage them to be of assistance even without orders. Remembering our manners is something that should come easy. Courteous behavior also facilitates a positive or optimistic environment. No one would like to be on a getaway where there's nothing but negative vibes.

Being on a cruise is no different than being in a Five Star Hotel. Giving tips to staff like your cabin crew or stewards, waiters and waitresses is most likely to be considered a token of appreciation. The staff will least be expecting this, but this would be a great way of thanking them. How much the tips are would entirely be up to you, but try not to make an insult where you'll just give your loose change. Keep in mind that when you give tips, they aren't begging for it and that they worked hard to please you. So, a good $3 - 4 would do.

There are also a few things you shouldn't do when you're on cruise as well. Like criticism. We all know that it is a little costly to go on a cruise and that you are expecting much from the price you have paid, but paying attention to the bad side of things will only ruin your getaway. If there is something that is truly bothering you, there's always a manager you can talk to and not just some random crew member.

There will be other passengers on this cruise with you so keeping your manners with you and considering others feelings would be a great way to behave while on this getaway. Being cautious in closing a door or conversing in the hallways is also something you want to be vigilant about.
