The Macworld 2008 Conference & Expo begins January 14 and runs through the 18. It's held at The Moscone Center, in San Francisco, and some of the latest technologies have been and will be revealed there. Many exhibitions, and sales also happen during this awesome four day event.

In this article, I will tell you about my experience at MacWorld 2008 which took place on January 15, 2008, and I will also be talking about the new technologies I saw, what I think are the hot Mac trends, and what will surely be making news.

My Experience at Macworld 2008

My day at Macworld 2008 started around 10am. Upon my arrival, I noted that there were many exhibitions going on, I did not know where to start. I started by visiting some of the tables that were up front, offering pamphlets and guides to everything that was going to be happening. Then I stopped by a table that was offering drinks and I bought one to last me for a couple of hours while I looked around and saw all of the cool things that were here. My first stop was at the Adobe table, where I saw some of the best graphics software available, including the newest Photoshop. After that, I skimmed at some other exhibitions and ended up at the Skype table, which was at the time raffling some headsets and time cards. After wondering around the whole Macworld expo, I ended up with some of the Google masterminds who were showing off their cool internet application, Google SketchUp. I just loved everything that Google had at their tables. Everything was so bold, and colorful; there was so many innovative internet apps opened up on their laptops.

My day at Macworld ended when I attended the Blast Attendee Party around 9pm. My ticket cost $40 and I got to enter in a raffle, for which I could have one tons of coll Mac toys like iPods, iPhones, and even some iTunes gift cards. While at this party, I had two drinks, and I must say that they were very good, and the cups were beautiful that I took them home. They were marked with Macworld 2008 Conference & Expo graphics. I also did a little bit of mingling and met two of the coolest Mac geeks I know. We hung out, there was a lot of music going on, and there was a VIP area, where many important Mac executives, enthusiasts, and speakers were hanging out.

Making News In Technology

Obviously, by the time that I arrived at Macworld 2008, the keynote address by Apple CEO Steve Jobs had already taken place, thus what was making new, and what will continue to make new in technology are the things he mentioned. The newest addition to their laptop collection, the MacBook Air, the iTunes addition of movie rentals on demand, and even some improvements to the iPhone.

I believe that what will be really in the news though are the prices and the offerings that that the new MacBook Air will provide. I don't think some people are very content with the price at which this new laptop is being offered, because it doesn't seem to be too different from the MacBook Pro or the original MacBook.

Hot Mac trends

What I believe will become hot new Mac trends, and that everyone will soon be having is Mac Office 2008, it is just amazing. There were many people surrounding the tables set up with this product and its promoters. They were even letting some people test drive it on laptops they had.

Secondly, I think that the iPod touch will become a hot new Mac trend after it has been released. It will be almost as popular as the iPhone was in 2007, as the only thing that it will not provide is wireless phone service.

Although I don't think people were too thrilled about the MacBook Air, I do think that it will become a hot Mac trend during 2008 and in the years to come. It's starting out at $1800, and its available with an 80GB hard drive, and a CD/DVD drive.

Finally, I think that the biggest Mac trend of 2008 will continue to be the Apple iPhone. I believe that soon, more wireless carriers will have it available, it will become usable overseas in different countries, and that more applications, games, and accessories will be made for it. I think the iPhone will someday become as big as the iPod.
