When my first son was born, I bought the Fisher Price Ocean Wonders Aquarium Bouncer. I was given the Baby Papasan Infant Seat as a shower gift for my second child. I am going to give a comparison of the two in the areas of design, comfort, cost, space the seat occupies, length of use by infant, and features.
Since the parents are going to be looking at the bouncy seat, appearance is more important to them than to the child. The Fisher Price Ocean Wonders Aquarium Bouncer has a blue ocean pattern theme. The toys also follow the sea theme. The Fisher Price Baby Papasan Infant Seat has very neutral colors with a leaf pattern.
Both bouncy seats are comparable in price: the Fisher Price Ocean Wonders Aquarium Bouncer has a retail price of $45.00, whereas the the retail price of the Fisher Price Baby Papasan Infant Seat is 50.00 Both bouncers are made of soft material. However, the Fisher Price Baby Papasan Infant Seat has a really great design. The plush padding of the Baby Papasan infant seat provides a soft support for babies. There's an adjustable infant head support and removable infant body pillow to keep a newborn infant extra secure. The Fisher Price Baby Papasan Infant Seat surrounds baby in total comfort with rich fabrics in lavish textures. The rich textile gives infants an exposure to tactile variety. While neither seat takes a lot of room the Fisher Price Baby Papasan Infant Seat has a great space saving design. It actually folds in half so that it can be easily stored under a bed or behind a door. There is also a great handle that allows great portable. You can actually carry it from room to room with one hand and hold baby with the other,
The bouncy seats show a lot of difference in the features that they have. The Fisher Price Baby Papasan has very basic toys. There is an removable arm with an adjustable mirror and a hanging bunny. The adjustable arm is great because you can quickly move it to pick up the baby and provide excellent support to a newborn baby. The bunny actually hangs with Velcro. Although it is quite plain, it will entertain a baby for quite some time and will encourage them to swat and reach for it. The mirror is also a great cognitive tool as babies love looking at faces. The Fisher Price Baby Papasan Infant Seat plays 8 soothing songs with a gentle vibrator. A really parent friendly function is that it has an automatica off, so you save batteries. The Fisher Price Ocean Wonders Aquarium Bouncer has a variety of toys, It has a removable toy bar features bright ocean themed toys with spinners and teethers to play with. The toys are stimulated by babies movements. So with every kick and swat the bubbles start again. When baby is tired of playing they can relax and watch the bubbles and lights. There are four different sounds ( lullabies, ocean waves, summer rain and babbling brook ) to help baby drift asleep.
The Fisher Price Baby Papasan Infant Seat is recommended for use from birth to when baby can sit up. The Fisher Price Aquarium Ocean Wonders Bouncer is recommended from birth till baby can actually craw out of it. In my own experience, infants don't really enjoy it until around 6 weeks or when they begin to be more alert and start batting at toys.
I really like both of these but would recommend Fisher Price Ocean Wonders Aquarium Bouncer over the Fisher Price Baby Papasan Infant Seat. You will get much more use from the Fisher Price Ocean Wonders Aquarium Bouncer. The toys are much more entertaining and the baby will enjoy if much longer.

Post a CommentI have to totally agree with you. We used the Aquarium bouncer with our first child and it kept him entertained until we could regain our sanity (sometimes longer). With our second child we decided to go for looks and bought an Eddie Bauer bouncy seat. While it looks good and matches the rest of his room it does not keep him entertained in the least. Don't get me wrong I'm not knocking the Eddie Bauer seat. It is very nice but doesn't do the job we were looking for. The Aquarium bouncer will soon be returning to our house as we are purchasing one now.
