The gym sits atop a 32 x 32 inch quilt. I like this feature because it means I can prove the product anywhere and not have to worry about the floor being spotless. I even bring it outside in nice weather and lay it over the grass. The quilt detaches so you can throw it in the washer when it gets dirty.
I really appreciate that this gym can keep my baby entertained for awhile even when I cannot be playing with her. It gives me a few minutes to get some chores done and yet know that she is still being stimulated.
The product is designed for ages birth and up. We began using it a few days after she was born and she would just lie on her back and look at the hanging toys. Now that she is older, she moves around and explores each of the attached toys. Once she started spending time on her stomach, I appreciated that there were links all over the crossbars to attach the toys down lower in addition to up on top.
The gym requires two C batteries to run. It lights up and plays music and nature sounds. Parents can turn on music that will last for 20 minutes. In another mode, the baby's movements will set off about 10 seconds of lights and music. The gym can also be set to play relaxing rainforest sounds for 20 minutes to help the baby fall asleep. I enjoy all of the music and sounds, none of them are annoying or irritating to me.
Each of the toys does something different. The monkey and elephant are squishy. The toucan jingles. There are beads that rattle and a leaf that crinkles. A mirror allows the baby to look at their reflection. The butterflies spin. A large stuffed giraffe makes the gym fun to look at.
Overall, I am very satisfied with this product. We've been using it for about 8 months now and it has held up well. My daughter enjoys playing with it and reaches for it whenever she sees it.
