Fishing

Casey
A loon flying underwater

The perfect blue green of a mine pit

The high dirt walls feel like protection

Protection from the outside world

Of horrible crimes, and even worse drugs

Fishing what an escape

Such a wonderful way to spend a day

Trout jumping around as we troll through

Tying up and baiting hooks

There are so many terrible atrocities happening

But in the boat it seems to fade away

Into the background of calling frogs and singing birds

The doped up slobs that hang in the towns around here

Drunkards who wonder around not knowing where they are
