Who Can Get an Ohio Fishing License?
Anyone can get an Ohio fishing license whether they live in the state or not. To buy a "Resident" license, you must have lived in the state for at least 6 months.
Children under the age of 16 don't need licenses. But, anyone age 16 and over must have a valid fishing license under penalty of the law.
How Do You Get an Ohio Fishing License?
Where to Go-
To get a fishing license in this state, you need to access the Ohio Department of Natural Resources, Division of Wildlife website . You must have a credit card and a printer to get an Ohio fishing license online.
Or, you can get a fishing license at an offline vendor. Most, if not all, bait stores offer this service. Sports departments in stores like Wal-Mart and Meijer also sell fishing licenses. To find a vendor near you, visit the "Search section" at the ODNR website.
What Information You Need to Provide-
According to the fishing license requirements in Ohio, if you previously purchased a license, you can access the ODNR online to get a new one. Simply provide your valid driver's license number or your social security number and the system will retrieve your information.
Otherwise, you'll need to provide your name, current address, phone number, valid driver's license number, social security number, date of birth, gender, eye color, hair color, height and weight to get an Ohio fishing license.
The cost of your Ohio fishing license will depend on your age and the type of license you buy.
