FISHWRAPPER Seven?

Christmas

Caleb Gerdes
Deep hope has consumed me. I see with a light no longer dimly lit. Demons have run. I have stayed. The Lord has heard my cries. The Lord has defeated my enemies. The Lord is gracious, the Lord is wonderful. The Lord is my King. I am no longer under darkness. I am no longer my enemies' captive. I no longer have need to take orders, suggestions, from a demon ill conceived. A fire never having been put out is now burning through my blood. My heart is a mess of joyful tears. My mind is capable of only comprehension. The depth of knowledge given is deeper than the shame of knowledge taken. I cannot tell you what my God looks like. I can only ask that you look at what has happened and what will happen in me and through me as this deep flame penetrates the skin of this broken pot. Now as the fire causes me to open my eyes I see greatly and I see deeply. I ask again and again why are the things the way we do not want them to be. Why are the fears wrapping my family and friends in cocoons of incapability's? Why are the fears so prevalent in my own mind, causing my mind to fight the yoke from the pilots' hand?

A young child has asked for mercy. A young child has demanded attention from a father. A young child has walked alongside a King unknown. A young child has seen the baby King and has not recognized Him. A young child begs for fulfillment. A young child longs for contentment. A young child sees the ancestors fight and scramble for the things we all understand. A young child wants fulfillment. A young child misses the baby King's gifts. A young child is bound by the beautiful boxes and expectations. A young child does not understand the deep misuse of a King's childlike faithful sacrifice. A young child has eyes full of bright lights and comments demanding attention and a fight. A young child is stuck. A young child looks down on the gifts of a beautiful Spirit. A young child no longer feels without a purchase of gifts. A young child is becoming ugly with expectation. A young child is becoming pregnant with ill-content. A young child does not see the point anymore. A young child is slowly dying. A young child sits and cries as a baby King dies. A young child does not feel the deep change caused by a death that cannot win. A young child cannot get up. A young child is corrupt. A young child only wanted fulfillment. A young child only wanted contentment.

Even if the date is wrong it is a time to truly celebrate the beauty of a God who is willing and capable of becoming like us in order to cure the cancer that has been eating us away since the beginning. It is a time to truly feel the blessing of what our God has done. He is our God and He is the merciful. He is the strong. He is the gracious. He is the provider. How can it be that we cannot see Him in this time? I tell you that there is a deep problem with us and our society. How can we go an entire season without really understanding? It's easy, buy more. Why not? It is the thing the world wants of us. The world only demands our hearts, they, unlike a woman, find our hearts through our wallets.

TAKE YOUR HEART OUT OF YOUR WALLET! STOP SPENDING YOUR BLOOD! MAKE THIS SEASON THE KINGDOM OF HEAVEN! STOP SPENDING YOUR FAITH! STOP SPENDING YOUR HEART! TAKE YOUR HEART AND GUARD IT FAITHFULLY FOR THE MASTER! THIS IS A TIME WHEN THE GREATEST GIFT HAS BEEN GIVEN! WE DO NOT NEED STUFF TO BELIEVE! OUR FATHER IS THE PROVIDER! LET HIM PROVIDE! GIVE LOVE! OUR FATHER HAS! STOP SPENDING YOUR LOVE!

Now that I've yelled I need you to see that to purchase a Christmas is one of the ugliest things we can see. We must stand out differently. We do not need to be a rich to stand out. We will not stand out if our hope is to be the accumulation of what the world wants. We are set apart, not because of our stuff, we are set apart because of our hearts. It is our hearts that are important. Do not let anyone take your heart from your God. This is not a joke.
