Fifth Dawn, the 3rd set of the Mirrodin Block, has some really great commons that will see a lot of play in the Peasant format. I'm just going to cover some of the set's common and uncommon highlights here. To learn more about any card mentioned here, just click on the name and you'll be taken to a scan of the card face at www.cardshark.com.

-
Cranial Plating - This card will find a home in any artifact based deck. It's cheap, it's power bonus can add up quickly, and with BB it will attach at instant speed. Peasant decks that run a lot of DarkSteel's Arcbounds will love this card.
-
Serum Visions, Lose Hope, Stand Firm - These are all 3 one casting cost instant with Great(Serum Visions) to okay abilities(others). The real value of the card is the Scry ability on each of them. Scry can help fix a bad draw fast and for cheap. Also of note are the slightly more costly(mana wise) Ferocious Charge and Fill with Fright.
-
Pentad Prism - Excellent mana fixer. This is something we'll see in a lot of decks. It's worth playing almost anytime you're using more than one color.
-
Condescend - Good addition to any Blue Control deck.
-
Wayfarer's Bauble - Another great mana fixer.
-
Myr Servitor - Get out 1 of these guys in late game and all his buddies come back from the dead to fight with.
-
Spark Elemental - This R 3/1 with trample and haste will find it's way into a lot of red decks even though it's dead at the end of turn. A first turn 3/1 trample, haste, you just can't beat that.

Eternal Witness - Everyone's talking about her. She's already shown up in A LOT of Pro Tour decks. Will she see some peasant play? I think so. Although I don't think she'll see as much play in Peasant as in Type II. She's an awesome card, but with the 5 uncommon limit, is she really worth a slot? Many players won't think so.
-
Energy Chamber- I think this could see a lot of play in the Arcbound decks I mentioned before. Combine some of these with the common Arcbounds, some affinity creatures, and some Cranial Platings, and it could get nasty really fast.
-
Devour in Shadow - Being haled as Black's best creature removal spell ever. I agree totally. Finally a creature removal spell that works on artifact creatures and black creatures!
Alright, there's your top cards. If there are any others I've left out that you think belong here, email me. There are many, many great cards in this set, but I think most of them hold up better in Type 2 than Peasant. For Example, Relentless Rats makes for a great casual Type 2 deck. But with the 5 uncommon limit in Peasant, it loses a lot of its steam.
