• iPump Total Body, by PumpOne is one of 16 apps under this software name available on the iPhone/iPod platform. Their website provides a huge number of videos, references, and fitness-related software products.
• iFitness v9.45 is an exercise database with pictures, instructions, and videos available on your phone. There is a custom workout list, personal log, and pre-determined routines that target both weight loss and strength training. It has a built-in body measurement, BMI, and weight tracker.
• GymGoal Lite is your personal version of the GymGoal website. In addition to hundreds of exercises and over 50 workout routines, there is a tracking system for both strength and cardio workouts. Your progress data can be backed up to the website for free to prevent any loss of information. The program includes many other features including three independent timers.
• NikeWomen Training Club, copyrighted by Nike, Inc, is a personalized training program that focuses on cardio, strength, flexibility, balance, and core training. The app includes training videos and custom workout programs.
• Gym Buddy v2.5, developed by Anywise Enterprise, is designed to log your performance rather than show you how to exercise! It is an adaptable log where you define what you want to do and then track time, weight, reps, etc. It has graphs, backup/restore, and three countdown timers that can beep or buzz independently as long as the unit does not go into a power-saving sleep mode. Workouts and stats can be sorted or listed in a calendar view.
• Fitview, developed by Senygma, tracks aerobic exercises, strength training and other vital statistics with detailed graphs and charts to help you spot trends and progress over weeks, months, etc. You can either create your own exercise list or use pre-set information.
• IMapMyRide is an iPhone app that uses GPS to track runners (www.mapmyrun.com), cyclists (www.mapmyride.com), and other outdoor enthusiasts. There are two separate iPhone apps. It not only tracks time, distance (English/metric), pace, and performance measures like calories burned, but integrates with social networks like Twitter.
• BodyBook Fitness Journal is a fitness log/workout journal that is perfect for the dedicated fitness enthusiast. There are pre-loaded and custom exercises that can be grouped into workouts for different days or training sessions. Data tracking reps, weight, time, distance, body weight, and BMI can be graphed to monitor progress.
• Health Cubby Lite*Social Fitness, designed by AppCubby, allows you to set and track weekly training goals based on the input of meals, behaviors (vices) you want to avoid, cardio and strength training, and physical measurements like your bust, hips, waist, and thighs.
• Cardio Track v1.6.5 is a simple app that tracks the times of activity sessions and additional notes. This simple diary will track any exercise from rowing a boat to running on an elliptical machine. Whether you hike or rollerblade, you can keep a simple record of your exercise and your workouts.
• Personal Best, by Caloreez and JSS Development, will help motivate you during a workout session. Select an exercise, like sit ups or using a bicycle, set a baseline starting point and track your personal best. There is a exercise library that can be customized according to your personal needs. The library includes exercises that are based on weight, time, or number of repetitions.
