Karen Barnes

During the 1999 NFL draft, there were two players who were drafted and three who were free agents that went into the NFL. Five total went to the pros during Stoops' first year as the head coach for the Sooners.

Draft Picks for 1999 - 2000 OU season

Stockar McDougle was drafted in the first round and picked 20th by the Detroit Lions and played as an offensive lineman for the Sooners. Listed as a guard and tackle, McDougle played for the Lions from 2000 to 2004, the Miami Dolphins in 2005, and the Jacksonville Jaguars who are located in his home state of Florida. McDougle is now a free agent and isn't listed with a current team to date.

Defensive back William Bartee was drafted by the Kansas City Chiefs in the second round of draft and picked 54. During his career with the the Chiefs, Bartee had 201 tackles, no interceptions and 3 sacks. He spent his whole pre career with the Chiefs from 2000 to 2006. Bartee is also not listed with a with a pro team. He missed the 2006 season with the Chiefs due to an injury and was let go after the season ended.

Neither player had any real notable pro highlights or awards with the exception of Bartee having changed is Chiefs number from 24 to 21 when Ty Law was signed to the Chiefs before the 2006 season.

Free Agents of the 1999 - 2000 OU season

Rodney Rideau was one of two defensive backs from the Sooners in 1999 who went to the New England Patriots as a free agent. Rideau was listed as number 39 on the training camp roster in 2000, but became an undrafted rookie during the same year. As of today, he isn't listed on any pro team roster. There is another Rodney Rideau who was an inside linebacker for the University of Houston and was born in Port Arthur, Texas.

Mike Woods is the other defensive back from OU to be listed on the Patriots roster for the 2000 season. Woods lives in Oklahoma where he works with at risk youth, is an agility trainer for sports teams and a coach for little league football. Woods also didn't make it past the Patriots training camp in 2000.

Matt O'Neal an offensive lineman for the Sooners went to the pros as a free agent for the Atlanta Falcons. O'Neal did become a center for the Scottish Claymores in the FA 2002 Draft as a second choice for the team. This was after Matt had suffered a knee injury that put him on the injured reserve list before being released by the Falcons after the preseason. After the Scottish Claymores closed down in 2004, O'Neal's sports presence has become invisible.
