Five Accessories to Dress Up Your Cell Phone

Back in November of 2007, according to Switched.com around 82% of Americans owned cell phones. In the last few years, its a possibly that percentage has eased towards 85%. Of course, with a booming cell phone industry, the selection of calling plans, there also has to be a variety of accessories to choose from too.

One popular accessory for a cell phone to own is the bluetooth. Bluetooth accessories are available for a variety of cell phones such as LG's, Samsung, Nokia and Samsung. Their average price run between $20-$40. Bluetooths enable a hands-free call while shopping, computing, walking or just hanging out on the couch. Caution to all Blue tooth users though-Do not use while driving! There are still many drivers who engage in cell phone conversation while driving their vehicle. It will distract your driving abilities.

Another useful accessory is a memory card. Memory cards are especially useful for cell phone users who enjoy collecting a number of songs for singing and listening along. Many of the current cell phone models are mp3 capable and usually hold ten to twenty songs. With a memory card, it can almost double or triple the number of songs that a phone can hold. For newer cell models, some even have document viewers, and documents can also be saved on the memory cards as well. A memory card for a cell phone is almost like a phone's personal flash drive. Most memory cards hold between 1 -5 GB of space and prices average around $5-$10 depending on where you purchase them.

When on the go with your cell phone-you definitely need a travel charger. Travel chargers can be purchased for use in the car or for use inside a home. If you are on the road a lot, a travel charger can keep the battery powered up in your cell. Most cell phones usually already come equipped with a charger at the time of purchase, but usually you only get one kind such as the car charger or one for the outlet. Chargers never usually run more than $10 and can be purchased from your current cell phone provider or your nearest retail or electronics store.

For cell phone protection, an important accessory to have is a snap on cover or case. Cases come in a variety of designs-some have lots of bling, while others are leather or have patterned designs. So your cell doesn't get beat up in your purse or in your car, having it in a case will protect it from drops or being thrown around some. Also snap on covers protect the keys and screen of a cell. A snap on cover acts as a shell or "armor" for your cell phone. Snap on covers come in assorted colors as well. Cases are usually less than ten dollars and snap on covers are usually no more than $5.

Once you are done with your cell phone for the day, it needs a resting place, instead of thrown on the dresser, coffee table or anywhere else that you may have trouble finding it the next day. Phone holders will give your cell phone a safe place to store until the next usage time and you will always be able to find it (as long as you have placed it there!). Phone holders can also be purchased for less than $10 as well.

Most cell phone accessories are useful, serve a purpose and are usually inexpensive. Accessories can often be purchased with your current cell phone provider or your nearest electronic store. They can also add a little "bling" to the life of your cell phone too.
