Five Beauty Necessities for the Summer!

With the sun blazing in the sky and the suffocating heat and sweat clinging to your shirt, summer's a period of time when your skin is in grave danger. If you want to keep your complexion from being damaged by the sun and the heat, you must have the following five products:

1. Oil absorbing sheets

Our skin tends to produce more oil in the summer than in any other season. Not only do you feel gross when there's oil oozing from your face, it can also destroy your makeup. Thus, oil-absorbing sheets are a must during the summer. One product that I found to be quite helpful at this task is Clean & Clear instant Oil-Absorbing sheets. They're inexpensive and can be found at most drug stores.

2. Sun block

Sun block is definitely a must during the summer. Sun block can keep your skin from being damaged by the UV rays and it can lessen your risk of getting skin cancer. You should always carry around a sun block that's suitable for both your face and your body. A sun block that works very well for me is the Face Shop Oil-free Sun cream. It's not messy and it's gentle enough for application on the face and on the body.

3. A base with at least spf 15

A base with at least spf 15 is also a necessity if you plan on going outdoors. Compared with sun block, a base can not only block the sun's harmful rays, it can also prevent dust and dirt from getting in your pores. Furthermore, some bases can be used in place of foundation to create a natural glow on your face! The base that I like to use in the summer is Clinique Super City Block. It has a very light texture and it's not oily, perfect for summer!

4. Oil-control foundation

For many people, foundation is a necessity when going outdoors. When you're outside for more than ten hours, your makeup often wears off and you have to reapply your makeup every couple hours. However, if you use an oil-control foundation, your makeup is less likely to wear off so you can enjoy you time outside instead of having to worry about your makeup. My favorite oil-control foundation is definitely Vichy Norma Teint Anti-Imperfection Foundation. It's light and breathable and just right for summer.

5. Waterproof eyeliner

Eyeliner is probably one of the most important aspects of eye makeup. It can make your eyes go from dull and uninteresting and blazing and gorgeous. Thus, eyeliner is definitely a staple of any makeup bag! Because many people sweat during the summer, you have to make sure to buy a waterproof eyeliner. After all, smudged eyeliner does not make a good statement! My favorite eyeliner for the summer is MAC cosmetics powerpoint waterproof eyeliner. It stays on all day no matter and doesn't smudge!
