Five Best Free Online Recipe Organizer Websites

Tricia Goss
You love to cook, bake or otherwise play with food. You know all of the Food Network stars by name. You try out a new recipe at least once a week. On the other hand, perhaps you simply like to look at recipes and contemplate attempting them someday when you have the time. Either way, keeping your recipes organized can be time consuming and stressful. Why file hardcopy recipes in a box or binder when you can let your computer categorize and store them for you? Here is a list of the five best free online recipe organizer sites, in alphabetical order.

Kitchen Daily

The first offering in the list of the best free online recipe organizers is Kitchen Daily. You can create a free account on this site or log in using your AOL user name and password. Use the free tools to find and add recipes to your personal collection, create grocery lists and even print coupons. There are thousands of recipes through which you can search or browse, video tutorials to watch, tips from chefs and experts and more.

Kitchen Monki

Kitchen Monki is another of the best free online recipe organizers. You can sign up for a free account with this comprehensive website or simply log in using Facebook. Employ the easy-to-use Your Queue tool to add and organize your own recipes or search the Kitchen Monki database and add recipes to your collection. Map out a week or more of menus using the Meal Planner tool. You can even create shopping lists and send them to your cell phone with Mobile Monki.

One tsp.

If you prefer a no-frills site that allows you to simply store, organize and create shopping lists for your recipes, One tsp. may be the best free online recipe organizer for you. Use it to copy your favorite recipes from other sites or import them from software, such as Meal Master. Access your recipes from any computer with an Internet connection or even from your phone. Create a shopping list from your recipes and print it to take to the store or simply access it from your cell phone.

Say Mmm

Say Mmm is a free online recipe organizer that really allows you to customize your collection. When you initially sign up for a free account, you get to select a color scheme for your page (you can also change this later in your account settings). You can add favorite meals; organize recipes and share restaurant ratings and reviews. Invite your family and friends by sending an email directly from the site so you can all share favorite recipes and restaurant ideas. Say Mmm has a thorough meal-planning tool that also allows you to create and print shopping lists or retrieve them with your phone.

We Gotta Eat

The name of the final free online recipe organizer says it all: We Gotta Eat! You are going to end up in the kitchen anyway, and organizing your recipes can make things so much simpler for you. Not only can you add and manage your own recipe collection, but you can also search the database of over 100,000 recipes. Create a profile, enter your account settings, become acquainted with others in the New Members area and then start loading in your recipes. You can use the Find a Member tool to see if family and friends are already members, or invite them to join and share recipes with one another. You can access recipes that other members have shared, as well.

No matter which of these free online recipe organizers you choose, you will soon find yourself prepared and orderly in the kitchen. Maybe next you can tackle the garage!

OMGoodness Tricia, what great sites!!! I've been using Betty Crocker's just to store a favorite recipe or two since our fire which consumed my extensive library of cherished (and over-used) cookbooks including my grandmother's prized collection. It's time to start anew, and now I know where to go, thank!!!

Great research, though I will probably continue to use my method of searching for recipes, which is fumbling through folders filled with greasy pages of recipes.
