Five Best Free Stock Market Simulator Apps

1. Stock Market Millionaire, by ChickenBrick Studios

I love the simplicity of this one and because of its simplicity this is the one I personally choose to use. There are really no glitches in the system, I haven't found a US stock or fund that isn't search-able or couldn't buy. It refreshes and shows your daily gains and losses. If you are looking for something to track without committing much more than a minute or two here and there, this is definitely the free app for you.

2. Stock Wars- Virtual Investing by Continuous Integration Inc.

C+

This app is probably the best concept of what you are looking for. The reason for the lower rating is that it has some glitches. If the designer fixes these, this will be the best app to choose from. It has a realistic profile graph and pie, you can look up currency and stocks, options and funds. This app is more strategy based rather than a game, which would really be great for any new or mildly experienced investor... if it wasn't for those damn glitches.

3. iTrade- Stock Market Simulator, by Andrew Farley

A-

iTrade has a great design and is more thorough than some, yet extremely easy to navigate and use. Like the others, you begin with $100,000 and you receive on point stock and fund quotes. You can also create and join clubs if you are looking to socialize with others who are looking at cracking into the stock market world.

4. Hot Shot Stocks- Stock Market Game, by ChickenBrick Studios

B-

This is the step-brother of the Stock Market Millionaire, created by the same people but with a more colorful design. It is extremely basic, which again could be good for those who are new to the world of stocks. Providing stock and fund quotes that update by the minute, this free app is definitely a great first step for beginners.

5. Trade Fields- Stock Market Simulator, by Maximo Cavazzani

B+

Of course this one is enticing, it has a shamrock as its logo. (I'm Irish, therefore sentimental.) The bonus is that this application has fixed many of its glitches. It has advanced sell and buy options that beat out some of the others. It's easy to use and navigate, has a nice yet simple design.
