As an elementary school teacher, you already know how important it is for kids to get involved with their learning. Supplementing insect or bug units with quality crafts brings the classroom to life and enhances learning. As a teacher myself, I know that finding the time to locate the right craft can be a challenge. I've already done the legwork for you. Check out these sites for crafts you can do it the classroom with common classroom materials.

DLTK Crafts for Kids: Bugs and Insect Crafts offers a host of crafts designed for kids. It includes bumblebee, butterfly, caterpillar, dragonfly, spiders and other insects. As an added bonus, links to purchase the materials needed for the craft are included. This site focuses on Sunday School, but lesson ideas and crafts are easily adapted to the elementary classroom.

The University of Kentucky's Entomology Department provides directions and images of nature crafts for dragonflies, beetles and butterflies.
