New parents are often forgotten during the holidays. After you have spent all of your Christmas money on the new baby you may be short on cash when you realize that a gift is still needed for the new parents. A small, inexpensive gift is all you need to give in order to keep them happy. These great gifts for new parents range in cost from 0-$25.

Free Gift for New Parents-Cost: Your Time

It is time to pull out your gift of talent. That talent would be babysitting. Offer the new parents in your life a few nights of free babysitting for Christmas. If you are really adventurous offer to keep the little one overnight. This will allow the new parents to get a good night's sleep and your gift will be greatly appreciated.

The best part about the gift of babysitting is that it can be combined with any other gift you are giving to the new parents.

Cheap Gift for New Parents-Cost: $10-$20

If babysitting is not your idea of a good Christmas gift then you can go with a sentimental standby: Hand or footprints of their baby. You will need a little preparation to sneak their darling away in order to make these but it is well worth the effort.

Craft stores and baby stores sell casting kits to make a baby's footprint or handprint. These kits come with a frame and sometimes have a place for a baby picture. Present the completed gift to the parents so that they don't have to do any of the work.

You can be more creative by using washable paint to create a handprint or footprint. You can put the prints on canvas or on a tote bag so that mom and dad can always remember how small their little one once was.

Inexpensive Gift for New Parents-Cost: $10-20

So you're thinking that you want a Christmas gift that is non-baby related for the new parents. After all, they have a life too. A great adult gift would be a movie gift basket.

You can include in mom and dad's Christmas gift basket either a movie or movie rental certificates. Throw in a bag of popcorn, some candy, and their favorite beverage. This cheap Christmas present is nice for new parents because it can be personalized according to their likes.

Inexpensive Gift for New Parents-Cost: $20-25

Christmas is a stressful time especially with a new baby so to help new parents unwind and feel like adults again an adult gift basket may be the perfect Christmas gift. Include a bottle of wine, two glasses, and some cheese in this basket.

This inexpensive gift basket is perfect for the new parents to share after their baby goes to bed for the night. Let the parents unwind with your gift, but hopefully not too much.

Inexpensive Gift for New Parents-Cost: $25

Get the new parents a gift card to their favorite restaurant. I know that many people do not like to give gift cards for Christmas gifts but couple the gift card with the free babysitting and you have a gift that the new parents will love.

These cheap Christmas gifts will make any new parent happy because you are thinking of them as a couple and as a family.
