Five Cleaning Tips for a Neat and Fresh Bathroom

Keep that Bathroom Nice and Tidy!

Thomas Griffin
Let's be honest with ourselves - sometimes we have trouble getting motivated to clean up the bathroom. I mean really, who has time to keep it spotless every moment of the day? Most of us that live in the real world don't have that kind of time, and for those people I would like to offer 5 simple cleaning tips to keeping your bathroom neat, fresh and tidy.

1. Set a timer for 10 minutes and off you go! What I have found very useful is to set a timer (usually my cellphone) for 10 minutes. If I set a certain amount of time to clean the bathroom, I find that I am generally more resourceful and work at a steady pace until the timer goes off. It is amazing how much cleaning can get done in a simple 10 minutes. What I also find interesting is that if I don't finish all I would like to do in 10 minutes, I am generally motivated enough by then to finish cleaning up the bathroom, regardless of how much extra time it may take. Using this tool is a win-win situation on both ends!

2. Spray everything first, then clean. Spraying everything first will make you clean everything up! If you only spray one thing at a time, it will be very easy to stop whenever you get tired of cleaning up. However, if you spray everything first, you are obliged to clean it all up right then and there.

3. Play music while you are cleaning and sing along. Play your favorite songs while cleaning and be sure to sing along! Singing along with your favorite music makes time fly by and therefore you will get more cleaned up without worrying about time constraints. "Lose yourself" while cleaning!

4. Use scented trash bags and candles. Using scented trash bags and candles will keep your bathroom smelling fresh, even when it isn't as clean as it should be. Candles are easy to light and trash bags are changed out regularly. I would recommend Pineapple Fusion candles - they smell wonderful!

5. Finally, don't stress! Take heart and enjoy! Don't stress about cleaning - cleaning should be your stress reliever. Remember that homes are supposed to be lived in and they can't be clean 24/7. Try setting aside 10 minutes once a week (or more often if you'd like) and follow the rest of the tips. While you may not get everything cleaned at one time, you will find cleaning to be less of a hassle and more of a joy!

Put these 5 cleaning tips to work and marvel at the results!

Scrubbing bathtubs is the worst part of cleaning the bathroom... I love the scented candle tip!
