With major declines in new car sales in 2010, it has been interesting to see what's new in the world of crossover vehicles for 2011. This article is an overview of five new crossover vehicles.

Nissan Rogue: This jelly bean shaped crossover isn't as much into looks as it is into performance. This is the little sister to the larger Nissan Murano. This car can handle being off road but it's only 8.3 inches off the ground. Cool features of the car are: The intelligent key allows drivers to unlock car and start it without removing key from your pocket or bag. The car also comes with Blue tooth that will allow you to talk on your cellphone without holding your phone! This is a car for a sporty owner and the car's cargo area features a removable and washable tray to keep your car clean when your not being outdoorsy!

The base model starts at $20,460.

Ford Edge: In writing about this car, Car and Driver described this car as, "When it was introduced for the 2007 model year, the Edge was like a contemporary Mariah Carey-great to look at, but struggling with a weight problem and the resultant effects on performance". The new 2011 model is sleeker and sexier than the previous model with a new grill, hood, fender. The new model isn't just about its outside look, the 2011 models come with the option for either the the base model engine 2.0 liter turbo charged or the sports model has the 3.7 liter V-6 engine. All Edge models with feature the "My Ford" it's a LCD touch screen on the dash that allows the driver to control everything that goes on inside the car, including music and cell phone usage. The Edge starts at $27,995.

Honda Pilot: This vehicle sports a 3rd seat, something not found in the other slightly smaller cross over vehicles. This vehicle has the ability to seat up to 8 passengers. The car also boasts 3 car seat anchors, a luxury for a young family who has more than 2 seats. The Pilot comes with a standard V-6 engine, with most of the other cross overs, this comes at an additional price. The reviews of the interior of the car have been less than favorable with reviewers complaining about a confusing dashboard and cheap materials used on the inside. The Pilot starts at $28,045.

Kia Sorrento: This Korean made car is not the fanciest car but it boasts an amazing warranty of a 5 year/60,000 mile basic warranty, a 10 year/100,000 mile power train warranty. The base model is not powerful enough to tow anything, for those with boats or the need to get the upgraded model and pay for the V.6 engine.

Subaru Forester: According to the car maker's website, the Forester offers the best resale value of any car in it's class. This is important for such a large investment, you don't want to be making payments on a car that's not worth anything by the time it's paid off. The car comes standard with 4 speed, this is the main compliant with reviewers. Most drivers with a lengthy commute would prefer a 5 speed.
