One way to decorate for Valentine's Day is to get some red and pink construction paper and make paper chains. You can get the construction paper at the store for three dollars and you will also need scissors and glue. Cut the pink and red construction paper in six strips long ways and then take one piece, make a ring and glue it. Take the other color paper and cut the strips the same way and then link a piece onto the circle you just glued so that they are connected. Making red and pink Valentine's Day chains is a great idea to decorate all over your house or in the doorways to your rooms. This can be hung from the ceiling or from your drapes and can add a lot of color and passion to any room for just a few dollars.
You can also decorate your kitchen table for Valentine's Day by buying a red or flower table cloth and draping it on your table. You can add some flavor to the Valentine's Day table runner by adding a vase full of candy or a stuffed animal holding a box of chocolate. The centerpiece of candy or a stuffed animal can add a great touch to a red or pink table runner and can be found for a few dollars at the store. You can buy red, flower, or pink table runners at your local store or craft store for five dollars. If you are really into decorating, you can also add some red candles to the middle of your table.
You can also use Christmas garland around your house to add to the Valentine's Day decorating. Take the Christmas garland and put it up around windows and curtains or around the doorways of your house to add a soft festive Valentine's Day decoration without spending more money. If you do not have Christmas garland around your house you can get it at the local craft stores for three dollars. If you want to add to the garland, you can hot glue some of the heart candy you get on Valentine's Day to the garland to add a special touch. Remember if you hot glue candies to the garland, you should not try to eat them afterward. Also, you can use the garland in the bathroom or around the bed for a special Valentine's Day decorating touch.
Red, pink, or white balloons around your house are always a great way to decorate for Valentine's Day. Add a balloon to the corner of each room and add some candy to the end of the balloon if you wish. You can also get balloons made already that have Valentine's Day sayings on them but they cost more money than just standard balloons, which you can get at the store for two dollars a pack.
You can decorate for Valentine's Day by also adding potpourri around your house. Get a glass vase or bowl and fill it with red cinnamon potpourri and set it on the kitchen table or on your kitchen island. This red potpourri will make your house smell good as well as add a lot of the warmth and color that is associated with Valentine's Day. You can also add a small bowl of the cinnamon potpourri in your room on your nightstand to add to the decoration for Valentine's Day. Potpourri is always a great way to make your home smell good while at the same time adding a romantic vibe to your home and is a great decoration for Valentine's Day.
