Five Deep Thoughts to Make You Laugh Out Loud at Work

Julie Murphy
Sometimes when we are at work, our days get overwhelmed with stress, and we need a little break to mentally get away for a few minutes. To relax and be reminded that the world goes round, even though you are stuck at work, is quite theraputic. So next time your job seems to be getting the better of you, think of or re-read my random thoughts about the world, and the crazy people that make up this crazy world. Sit back, read and smile! The day will be over soon!

1. Who is the idiot in the front of traffic in a major city at rush hour. Ever thought about that? Somewhere, there is someone that is not sitting in traffic. They are leading it. Who are they? Where are they? Do they realize that if they were driving better, traffic just might not be delayed for an hour? If anyone finds out who is in the front of traffic, PLEASE let me know.

2. In major cities, why does the city always seem to have cleaning trucks on the busiest interstates during rush hour? Ok, so I know there have been several times I have sat in traffic for an hour moving only a mile to find out that the 5 lane interstate goes down to 1 or 2 lanes so the freakin cleaning crew can work. Whose ingenius idea was that?

3. Who came up with curse words? I mean, seriously. Did someone go out drinking one night and then just decide that a certain word was going to now be classified as a "bad" word? And furthermore, is it possible for someone like me to invent what will be a curse word? Why is it in appropriate to say the A-- word, but its fine to say the word behind? Why is behind not a "bad" word?

4. Why is it that some doors have a handle on the inside when to open the door you push? Who engineered those doors? Have you ever walked up to a door and grabbed the handle to pull and then felt like a first class moron?

5. Perhaps my favorite deep thought is why do banks charge overdraft fees? Come on, if someone does not have the funds to cover a check, do they really think we have the money for an overdraft fee?

I have always wondered about these things as well. Great and hilarious article!

I can relate to the overdraft fee? And what about the fee they charge eventhough you have overdraft protection. They should call it overdraft loan!

I like number 1 and 5, especially number 5. And then they have the audacity to have over draft protection fees? I'm confused here, am I being protected from the fee that comes with over-drafting the account, only to have another fee? Redundant!

I love number 4 as I only did it myself today..

Numbers 1 and 3 are things I ponder constantly. I'm glad someone else shares my frustrations. Nice work!
