Five Dixie Chicks Songs on YouTube

The Dixie Chicks' Music Has Affected Us All

Donald Pennington
Who doesn't need a little bit of Dixie Chicks, and especially Natalie Maines, every now and then? Wasn't that precisely what you're searching for, in coming to this page? Well, here it is , then! To make the quest easier these five songs (plus a bonus you'll love) are listed here. YouTube Doesn't always seem to have the best engine to find play lists. From each song, viewers can even move to other tunes by the Dixie Chicks, in most cases. With all that being said, enjoy:

Five Dixie Chicks Songs On YouTubeNumber Five:

Wide Open Spaces

One of the Dixie Chicks' earlier songs, this tune still speaks to the promise of a life begun. A life can be begun, or begun anew. A pleasant, vibrant beat and rhythm also seems to help we parents understand letting go. It reminds us of when we all struck out too. Who couldn't enjoy this song?

To some, that point in life where someone is just starting out, is considered the "genius" phase. It's trivia.

Five Dixie Chicks Songs On YouTubeNumber Four:

Travelin' Soldier

We all serve. The Dixie Chicks know that. This sampling of the girls' genius reminds those who have someone in the service that, someone cares about everybody in active duty. Listeners are reminded that no one who's ever fallen wasn't the ultimate sacrifice a soul can make. Let this performance serve as a worthy memorial to our armed forces.

Five Dixie Chicks Songs On YouTube Number Three:

Landslide

Landslide is the perfect song for anyone recovering from the pain of divorce. This cover by the girls speaks to the need of those who've lost love to let go and move on, whether it's scary or not.

Natalie Maines' particular performance of this great tune just reminds us all of how lovely a song can be...how lovely letting go can be. Yes. Children get older, and I'm getting older too, just like you.

Five Dixie Chicks Songs On YouTube Number Two:

Not Ready To Make Nice

This piece may be Natalie Maines' most powerful ever. Shortly into Operation Enduring Freedom, the artist made a statement about her opinion of then President George W. Bush. Many were of the opinion that since America was currently at war, the comment was in bad taste, and that alone might've been fair.

Others took themselves a bit too seriously by even going so far as to make death threats, harassed, and tried to ostracize Ms. Maines, unsuccessfully. This song is her most eloquent response. Most who hear it tend to agree with Natalie...especially since history may be proving Natalie Maines correct in her statement.

Five Dixie Chicks Songs By Request Number One:

Goodbye Earl!

This song by the Dixie Chicks ranks as number one due to enlightening women the world over to self-defense.

At the time of the song's release, some objected to the message of "Goodbye Earl," since a (gulp) man might die for abusing a woman. In spite of any complaints, it's a great thing that women stand up today. Ladies, your tune did good...real good.

Five Dixie Chicks Songs On YouTube Bonus:

Lullabye

If this Dixie Chicks tune doesn't win you over, nothing could. Since you're nice enough to visit the amazing songs, it's my intent to give you one more song to remind readers of the awesome power of love. Some say: "Bless that which you want." So, Natalie Maines, and the rest of the Dixie Chicks, are helping myself and so many others bless the very idea of love...and being close to those we love the most. You will be moved.

I'd never bought a country cd before they expressed themselves for what I felt, too. So, I went out & bought my first, followed by a 2nd. I found out I also love their music. Paid a pretty penny to go see them in Los Angeles last year or the year before. Amazing artists, they are...
