If you are looking to take your beloved dog out for a day of fun, check out these five local dog parks all located within about a half an hour of Springfield, PA 19064.

Located in a beautiful park near a creek sits Kent Dog Park. It is located in Upper Darby Township. The full address of the park is: 3900 block of Bridge Street off E Baltimore Ave, Upper Darby PA. The park is a managed by Upper Darby Township and Delaware County Authorities. The park hours are 8am to darkness. The interesting thing about this park is you need a key card to enter. You can apply to get a card for a small fee and presenting your dogs rabies shot records. The dog has many amenities like both a large and small dog area. It features water, plenty of shares, places for humans to sit and beautiful scenery. It's well worth the trouble to get the key card!

Another great place to take your dog is right in Concord Township. The park is called Bush Hill Farm at and can be found at 30 Bethel Road, Concord Township PA. The park is open from sunrise to darkness. There is no fee or key required to enter this completely free park. They simply have a list of rules to follow like no food inside the dog area and no smoking in the dog area. It is a very nice, free space for your pooch to play at. This park is a favorite of dog lovers because it is free!

If you are in the Manayunk area, check out Pretzel Dog Park. It's located at Cresson Street in Manayunk and is open during daylight hours. It's an informal park where many people like to meet with their dogs.

Another doggy friendly park in the Philadelphia area is Schuylkill River Dog Park. It features a dog run where dogs can run freely off of a leash. It is located at: 2500 Lombard St Philadelphia, PA 19103 and is open from dawn to dusk. This park is for all types of dogs. I've seen very large breeds and mini breeds frequent this park.

The last place in Delaware County is Walsh Park. The park is at the end of Brookside Road, Springfield, PA. Though not an official dog park, many locals bring their furry friends here. There are informal gatherings of dog lovers in the morning and in the early evenings. The park offers some nice wide open spaces and although it has no fence, it is a very quiet park with not many visitors. It makes it a nice place for the dogs and their human friends to gather. The park also provides free dog waste bags.

Whichever park you decided to take your dog to, you and he are bound to have fun!
