Five Dreams that Would Come True if I Won the Lottery

I can remember being a young child growing up in a small town of Pennsylvania, where within the walls of my quaint, child filled house, my parents were chatting to one another constantly about what they would do if they ever had the luxury of winning the lottery. At the time I thought that these fantasy talks were real future plans and not just wishful thinking, but such is an imagination of a hope filled parent and an imaginative child.

Although once old enough to know the talks, and dreams and sparkle in my parents eyes was not real, and going to come true s I had once thought, I can't help myself wondering now as an adult the same ridiculous dream/fantasy of winning the lottery! My life would change significantly if more money was in my grasp. Although, more than a few things would change in my life as well as those close to me, I have narrowed down my ongoing list of changes to just a few for easy reading.

1. My place of residence would change.

Over the years my dream house has oddly stayed the same in my mind. I want a Pennsylvania plantation type house, like ones of the revolutionary war era. Being a history buff of the revolutionary war and civil war the common needs of that time have fancied me well. The porch would one to wrap around the whole house, a kitchen in the basement like they once had it, where the cooks had their own separate quarters, a balcony on the second floor the whole length of the front of the house, with a big window/door opening out too it from the mater bed room. Although my wishes are simple, as far as what I just stated, I would love to have a house completely restored to either of those two eras.

Of course the house being called a plantation house would undoubtedly have a plantation to set on, one that my entire family will call, "The homestead" just as they did back in the colonial days. The plantation will comply of corn fields, wheat fields, and a massive vegetable garden. Animals we will inquire shall be horses, chickens, pigs, cows, dogs, and cats.

I suppose one could say I prefer to go back to the simple way of living, with a few modern devices to keep it interesting!

2. The quest to fulfill my incredible urge to help people would be satisfied.

I help the ones around me deserving of my help with the best of my ability, but it never seems to be enough if my eyes. Some people say that money doesn't buy happiness. I do not entirely feel this statement is correct. Receiving money and happiness can go hand and hand if you cherish the gift and use them both properly. By having money that I can do with what I will, it allows me to help those in need on a whole different level. I could donate a respectable amount of money to charities I have been so longing to help. Underprivileged children have also been in my heart as well. With the right amount of money and resources, I would plan to set up numerous amounts of programs to aid them in their future lives. A big chunk of my time, resources and money would also go toward our military services and those who serve. I feel if I am not as brave as those who serve to go and do what they are doing myself, then the least I can do is help them help us by giving them whatever they are in need of at that particular time.

3. Descendants of mine will be educated.

I do not believe in forcing a person to further their education if they do not feel they are ready too, or have that want. I would love for my children, and their children to be college graduates, but it is not necessary. One does not have to be a college graduate to gain knowledge. Never the less, winning the lottery would allow me to give all who want to further their education within my family, the option to do so without the financial burden that I had to overcome. I myself would too continue in furthering my education as I seen fit, just because I could!

4. My stresses, worries, struggles and such common life burdens among us all would nearly diminish.

As I would not have to worry about such stresses as paying the bills, heating our house, finding enough money in the budget for groceries, let alone any extra snacks. I would be able to give my son whatever he desired to an extent and not ever have to feel the aching in my heart because I couldn't get him a toy for Christmas because the finances were just not there at the time. To see the smile on his face when he got everything he asked for, would make me complete.

5. I wouldn't have to decipher between needs and wants.

I would not have to think twice about buying a luxury item such as a car, or jewelry, I could just say hey I want that and I could have it. I would also be able to pursue my want of having the time to dedicate to writing more than I am able to now and that would make me very ecstatic!

Of course, I have more and more ideas brewing up in this brain of mine, but for now I will leave you with this, who knows maybe someday I will be writing about the real experience!
