Paint
One of the most drastic and inexpensive ways to redecorate your bedroom is to change the paint color. Since the bedroom is supposed to be a place for relaxing, keep colors soothing and soft. Color choices like lavender, teal, cream or sage all liven up the space without going overboard with color.
Lighting
Switching out your old fixture is an instant way to update the bedroom as well as set the décor tone. Go glamorous with a mini chandelier or transform the bedroom to a spa retreat with dimmer lights and track lighting. Adding a ceiling fan with lights gives your bedroom a casual feel, in addition to circulating air around.
Furniture Update
If you have the budget, replacing old furniture is an ideal way to set the tone for a new bedroom. Want to go modern? A platform bed is sleek and takes up very little space. If you have high ceilings, a canopy or poster bed is suitable for the space. Think about the theme of the bedroom you are looking for, and purchase furniture accordingly for a whole new look. If you lack closet space, an armoire is suitable for storing clothing and shoes.
Bedding
One quick and easy way to redecorate the bedroom is to change out the bedding. Whether you use a quilt, luxury or down comforter or change patterns and colors seasonally with a duvet cover, mixing up bedding is an instant update.
Window and Floor Treatments
Change drapes as well to complement or accent existing décor or textiles in the room. If you want a lightweight window treatment for a casual beach vibe, cotton window treatments are wispy and provide privacy. For a more regal-style room, look into velvet drapes that block out plenty of light and offer you the most privacy. Rugs are a simple way to change flooring without the extra work or money. Add a rug to each side of the bed, or place on at the foot of the bed to draw the eye down.
