If you've ever had a man who you had no interest in ask you out on a date, you are not alone. Many of us have been asked out by a man we didn't feel any chemistry with. Instead of actually telling him we're not interested, we sometimes use excuses to make him leave us alone. Read on to learn five common excuses women use to let a man know they're not interested.

"I Have a Boyfriend"

This line works whether or not you truly have a boyfriend. If you're not attached, it's okay to let him think you are. Tell him that you've been with your boyfriend for a significant amount of time and that you're faithful to him.

"I Just Got Out Of a Serious Relationship"

Telling him you recently ended a serious relationship is another way to let him down easy. Let him know that you still need time to heal from a breakup, and aren't ready to start dating again.

"I'm Too Busy For a Relationship"

Whether it's kids or a hectic career, telling him you're too busy for a relationship is an excuse he should at least understand. Let him know that you don't have time in your busy life to devote to a relationship.

"I Look At You Just As a Friend"

This is probably the most common excuse women use to let a man know they're not interested. While some men will know that you're full of it, others will fall for it. Just tell him that you don't see him in a romantic way, and that you want to be friends.

"I'm a Lesbian"

Okay, this excuse is a bit extreme, but you may have no choice but to use it if your other excuses don't get through to him. Just tell him you've never been interested in men, and you don't plan to start with him.
