If you've been keeping up with F/X's "American Horror Story", then you realize that one of the major storylines happens to revolve around Vivien's freaky romp with a ghost in a rubber gimp suit. Unfortunately, the little frolic has resulted in a mysterious pregnancy that has only complicated the family's troubles. But Vivien (played by Connie Britton) is not the first fictional character to have frolicked with a member of the supernatural. Check out these weird examples…
"The Entity" (1982)
"The Entity" is one of the first movies to feature a fictional character that has a sexual encounter with a ghost. The movie, which stars Barbara Hershey, focuses on a woman who is basically tormented by a supernatural being. The entity wreaks all kinds of havoc--- creating a terrifying experience. Ironically, the story is based on real claims a woman made in 1976.
The Haunted (1991)
It is likely that you have never heard of this film. That would be because the 1991 made-for-TV movie is out of circulation. The story is actually based on true accounts revealed by the Smurl family. In the movie, husband and father Jack Smurl is attacked by what most would call a succubus. As he sits on the couch watching television, the entity comes down the stairs and pins him to the ground---having her way with him. The horrendous apparition then vanishes into thin air. (Shudder.)
Haunted (1995)
This movie, which stars actor Aidan Quinn, puts him at the center of a captivating mystery. David (Quinn) is a professor sent to a mansion to disprove that ghosts exist therein. He becomes smitten with the lovely and enchanting Christina (Kate Beckinsale). He enjoys his little romp with her---that is, until he discovers that Christina (along with her other family members) is actually a ghost.
But not every sexual encounter with a supernatural being is a frightening one---as is evidenced by the 2001 film "Scary Movie 2." In the raunchy comedy, a sleeping Alex (Tori Spelling) is seen being violated by an invisible entity. She awakens, and the violations continue in about a dozen different politically incorrect ways. You have to see it to believe it.
"An American Haunting" (2006)
Here is yet another situation based on the Bell haunting---a Tennessee-based ghost story that many purport to be true. This 2006 horror film takes quite a few liberties with the real haunting's details. In it, Betsy Bell (Rachel Hurd-Wood) is seen being sexually assaulted by an unseen presence, presumably the "ghost of her living self." Definitely a bizarre scenario. But we've seen stranger things on the big screen.
