Five Free Prizes for the Winner of Family Game Night

Family game night is about getting together for some family fun. That family fun is a lot more attractive when you have prizes for the winner of family game night. If you have very small children, you might also want to have some type of consolation prize for them. Otherwise, make the prizes something that everyone will enjoy. Use these five free prizes for the winner of family game night so that you can give them something they want without spending a lot of money.

"Get out of chores free" cards: These are cards that offer the owner relief from specific chores or an entirely chore free night. This is one of the five free gifts for the winner of family game night that even the parents will enjoy!

Spendable miles or points: If you belong to a club or affiliate program that offers miles or points as a reward, why not offer them as a prize? Members of the family can save the points or miles to spend on something they have been longing for and it won't cost you a dime!

"One day early ungrounding" card: This card is great for kids who get grounded for a week or two at a time. They can use this card to get ungrounded a day earlier than expected, providing their behavior warrants it. You might think this only benefits the child, but think back to the times your child has been grounded. It not only disrupts their routine, but yours as well. Being able to get ungrounded a bit early not only relieves you from the stress of them being grounded, but also gives them some extra motivation to win the game and keep their behavior positive if they do get grounded.

"Stay up late" card: This card will entitle the winner of family game night to an extra late bed time. You can set a limit of how late they stay up by offering an hour per card and limiting how many cards can be used at any one time or even during one week. Either way, it's something for the children to strive for during family game night.

Free electronics time: These days, there are so many electronics available to kids that part of parenting is limiting the amount of time they spend on their electronic devices. The winner of family game night gets some extra time to use their electronics. This might mean extra time on the Xbox or some really loud stereo time, so as the parent, you might want to invest in some ear plugs or some outdoor time while your child takes advantage of this particular prize from family game night.

As you can see, there are plenty of prizes to be given out during winter family fun. Extra privileges aren't the only things you can give either. Make your prizes fun by giving out free time and options that children don't normally have, like picking what's for dinner. Personally, we don't use the dinner card here because I can only stand so much mac and cheese! Just make sure that what ever prize you give out, you are able to follow through with. That's just another reason that free prizes are so much fun. You don't have to worry about saving up the money to come up with the prize! You just have to plan ahead so that you can live with the execution of the prize.
