Homemade Face Paint
Materials
Small containers (one for each color)
1 tsp. Cornstarch for each container
½ tsp. Cold cream for each container
½ tsp water for each container
Food coloring
Mix the cornstarch and cold cream in each container until well blended. Add in the water and stir well. Add the food coloring one drop at a time until the desired color is achieved. Use the mixtures to paint small designs on your face. Wash face off with soap and water. Cover the containers with a lid for storage.
Bath Tub Paints
Materials
½ cup clear or white liquid hand soap
1 tsp cornstarch
Food Coloring (washable tempera powder will also work)
1 Plastic ice cube tray
Mix the soap and cornstarch in a small bowl. Divide the mixture among the ice cube tray sections. Add food coloring one drop at a time. (Test a small amount on tub to ensure easy clean-up) Paint body and scrub up! Store in bags or containers in refrigerator.
Magic Mud
Materials
1 box of cornstarch
Water
Food Coloring
Pour the cornstarch in a bowl. Add just enough water to be able to stir the mixture. Add food coloring. Your child can play with the mixture with his fingers or it is great to run toys cars through!
Lickety spilt Lip Gloss
Materials
1 T. solid vegetable shortening
1 tsp. Honey
1 pkt. (.13 to .23 oz) unsweetened Kool Aid mix
¼ tsp. Hot water
Mix honey and shortening in a bowl. In a separate bowl, mix the drink mix powder and the water. Stir until the powder is dissolved. Stir the Kool Aid mixture into the honey/shortening mixture a drop or two at a time until the gloss is the desired color and scent. Put on lips and enjoy! The gloss can be saved in a container placed in the refrigerator.
Tutti Frutti Water Colors
Materials
Different flavors of Kool Aid unsweetened powdered drink mixes
Warm Water
Mix 1 packet of drink mix with 2 tsp. of warm water. Stir until the mix dissolves. Use a paint brush to paint with the mixture on paper. Place in a container with a lid for storage.
